Row-a-thon – April 6th

This is one of my favorite pictures of Norm and I. No cool guy posing with guns, no puffing up our chest, just two friends with guns, loading bullets, preparing for what the morning would bring

It feels odd that 7 years has past since he was killed in combat, because it feels like just yesterday we were loading up the Saxons getting ready for what ever the worst of Iraq had to bring to us. Norm was my best friend and mentor, but more than anything else in this world, he was my brother in arms.

Norm was killed after a 10-hour firefight in Logar Province. It was upon returning to his base that he was killed by an IED.

If you have never done a Hero Wod before this would be a good first because it is a Teamwork wod of course. So bring a friend or just show up and we will pair you up with a good teammate. 10 Hours is a long time to stay in a fight, so this workout will be a grinder. Probably a good idea to bring long socks.

Don’t worry if you didn’t know Norm. The point of the Hero Wod is to celebrate the warrior spirit, not just the individual warrior’s spirit.

The world is a better place because of Norman.
